Support for life’s marking moments

Hi, I’m Maggie. I am a premarriage counselor and a wedding officiant based in Minneapolis (though I’m open to travel!). From preparing for your wedding to making it official, I’ll be cheering for your marking moments—the big ones and all the tiny ones along the way.

Consider me officially in your corner.

About Maggie

I’ve always been a wordsmith and a people person. This led me to a degree in writing followed by ten years in nonprofit communications. But my most life-giving moments have been sitting knee to knee with someone—not fixing anything, just offering compassion and bearing witness to their experiences.

In order to do more of that work and do it better, I am attending seminary to discern whether chaplaincy or pastoral ministry is right for me. In the meantime, I work at a church doing communications and supporting couples preparing for marriage.

I love officiating weddings because I enjoy celebrating with folks, but I also enjoy public speaking. I spend a lot of time speaking in front of congregations, so I am quite at home in front of a crowd. I officiated my very first wedding in both English and Spanish, so let me know if you’re planning a bilingual wedding!

In addition to my church work (The Table MPLS) and my seminary studies (Luther Sem), most of my time is spent raising our four loud, joy-filled kids and driving the Mom Taxi.

About Prepare/Enrich

Prepare/Enrich is an online inventory specifically for couples in committed relationships—it’s more in-depth than a magazine quiz, less intense than a personality assessment. I’ll send you and your partner a link to take the inventory separately, and then we’ll come together to discuss the findings over the course of four sessions.

We always lead with strengths (what the two of you do well), and then lean into growth areas (because no relationship is perfect). The good gift of Prepare/Enrich is the space it carves out for you and your partner to have conversations that may not come up in day-to-day life.

Because you’ll build skills that provide immediate benefits, you can complete Prepare/Enrich at any time leading up to the wedding—or after! Additionally, the state of Minnesota incentivizes couples who complete premarriage counseling, so make sure to ask how I can get you a discount on your marriage license!

FAQs

  • I am, yes, but if you’re not, that’s okay. Regardless of the faith you practice, we’ll work together to create a wedding ceremony that is a true representation of your relationship, not my beliefs. Prepare/Enrich is not religious in nature, although spirituality is a topic of discussion as it pertains to your relationship.

I am also LGBTQ+ affirming. Full stop.

  • Absolutely! Maybe you’ve been referred to me by the person officiating your wedding, or you’re already married and looking for a relationship check-up. We’ll discuss your inventory responses over a series of 4 sessions (up to 8 if you want a deeper dive). Scroll down to Services to learn more.

  • Absolutely—no AI here! I’ll work with you to write a unique ceremony based on what matters most to you and your partner. I have many examples of readings, vows, etc. for inspiration but we’ll customize it just for you.

  • You can see what I offer and associated costs by scrolling down to Services. I’m also willing to work with you if there are budget constraints.

  • I wouldn't consider myself fluent but my very first wedding was in both English and Spanish. If you're having a bilingual wedding, I can help!
